2022 James Beard Nominee. Beer writer. Homebrewer. Gullah-Geechie bred.
Creating sustainable communities through brewing and agriculture.

A Charleston native—currently residing in Baltimore City, l became obsessed with beer after completing a beer internship in The Czech Republic, Belgium & Germany. When the internship came to a close, I put my degree in English and love of culture to good use as an award winning writer and journalist for the beer industry. Since 2016, I’ve set out to immerse myself in all things beer related—from Cicerone certification to becoming a member of the DC Home Brewers’ Club to a frequent contributor for Good Beer Hunting and Huckberry as a journalist and writer.

Author of the James Beard Nominated three-part article and podcast series, “Tek Cyear Uh De Root “ - a historical and contemporary look into Charleston’s German Shutzenfest and the African American involvement in beer spaces, past and present

Led the social initiative aimed to promote conversations related to diversity and inclusivity through a beer collaboration with Edmunds Oast, Good Beer Hunting and Lost Lagers—“8 & All” an American Strong Ale
