There hasn't been one Christmas morning in my lifetime that I didn't awaken to the smell of Garlic Pork in the morning. This familiar aroma is the meaning of Christmas for my family and almost every other family of Guyanese heritage. This was my first year to carefully prepare this delicacy and present it with love to my new to be family in South Carolina. I've watched my mother's careful preparation of her Anise Seed bread and "setting" her Garlic Pork for years. My Christmas gifts this year were my grandmother's recipes that I will treasure and proudly add to my personal culinary specialties.
